And so does the Knox Road blog! (who did an interview with us earlier this year)
Rolling Stone’s Rock&Roll Daily just highlighted The Music Slut’s Morrissey Tribute compilation, and they singled us out as a recommended tune! Here is the blog post.
Rolling Stone’s Rock&Roll Daily:
The Music Slut’s ongoing tribute to Moz on the honor of his 50th birthday continues, with a string of covers — a new one every Friday! — that range from faithful to far-out. May we humbly suggest you start with Exit Clov’s bright and charming take on “Sing Your Life”?
A nice blog post by the peeps at “We <3 Music” who picked Exit Clov’s version of ‘Sing Your Life’ as their favorite on TMS <3 Moz compiliation.
We’ll have the song available for free download here very soon!
Come out to our next DC show at Black Cat, Wednesday, June 10. We’ll be co-headlining with Mt. St. Helen Vietnam Band!
Incase you can’t tell, this is one of the latest from Matt Sesow (right). Beautifully horrific. No surprise there.
Our next NY show will be part of the Northside Festival in New York. Check out all the amazing bands throughout the weekend!
We’ll be playing on Thursday, June 11, at the Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn with Miho Hatori (of Cibo Matto & Gorrillaz) and Elizabeth Harper (Class Actress). It’ll be the SUPERGLORIOUS SHOWCASE put together by our buddy Hayden of Karate Rice.
See the gigs page for more details.

NOW!!!
Those awesome slutz championed our last cover tune too… of Peter Tosh’s Steppin Razor, which we recorded for a public service announcement.
Morrissey is turning 50, and that’s reason to celebrate. The Music Slut is putting out a tribute compilation endearingly titled “TMS <3 MOZ.”
The record is a 19-song compilation of Morrissey and Smiths covers. Between May 4th and 28th, the Music Slut will be hosting a new track every weekday for free download. Psst - Exit Clov’s cover is going to be available at TheMusicSlut.com on May 8th at 4pmEST!
Set your alarms and google calendar alerts so you can download it soon’s it hits the virtual streets. Thanks, Matt, from TMS. It’s been a blast to record. Other artists on the compilation include Deleted Scenes, A Brief Smile, Free Blood, Pattern Is Movement & more.
To quote The Music Slut:
“I’ve asked a bevy of my favorite artists to contribute tracks to TMS Hearts Moz. Highlighting a selection of their choice, the result is a 19 song compilation that includes renditions of Smiths favorites, Morrissey rarities and nearly everything in between. I’m so proud to present this to you, our dear readers, and I’m forever thankful to each of the acts that took time out of their busy schedules to submit their own interpretations of some of my most cherished tunes.”
Word came thru the grapevine that District of Sound has given us a nice write-up on their site. Thanks!! It was practically an essay. Almost as long as one of my mom’s text messages. (She writes novels in her texts)
Below is an excerpt and also the link to the Clov write-up by Orlando.
“‘MK Ultra,’ arguably one of the strongest tracks from Exit Clov, … has one of the craziest videos…ever. There’s mind control happening around the Washington Monument, jumping jacks, hazmat suits, and what looks like kinetic lightning (a la the Emperor) and a freeze frame high five at the end. I mean, come on! What more could you ask for?”
